It is here that monthly a team of bilingual born to read volunteers meet the families of newborns and model reading to children and its importance to their child’s developments. Each family of a newborn receives a bag of age-appropriate books in either French or English depending on the language of the family. In addition, on subsequent visits to the CLSC clinic parents are invited to choose a book to add to their baby’s collection. If a sibling is present he/she may also choose an individual book to take home.
